Full-Time Customer Service Representative
Metropolitan Lynchburg Moore County Utility Department is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Customer Service Representative to join our team.
We are looking for a dependable, professional, and friendly individual who enjoys working with people and serving our community. This position plays an important role in assisting our customers and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Utility Department.
Position Responsibilities
The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for a variety of customer service and administrative duties, including:
- Assisting customers in person and over the phone
- Processing customer payments and maintaining accurate records
- Answering questions regarding customer accounts, billing, and utility services
- Establishing and updating customer accounts
- Performing data entry and general clerical duties
- Maintaining organized and confidential customer records
- Communicating with customers, coworkers, and management
- Assisting with additional office duties as needed

Full-Time Maintenance Crew Member
Metropolitan Lynchburg Moore County Utility Department is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Maintenance Crew Member to join our team.
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and motivated individual who is willing to work as part of a team to help maintain and support our water and wastewater utility systems. This is a hands-on position that involves working outdoors, performing physical labor, and assisting with the daily maintenance and operation of utility infrastructure throughout our service area.
Position Responsibilities
The Maintenance Crew Member will assist with a variety of duties, which may include:
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing water and sewer lines
- Assisting with water main and service line repairs
- Performing routine maintenance on utility infrastructure
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and other equipment
- Performing general maintenance of department property, equipment, and facilities
- Responding to water leaks, service issues, and other utility-related needs
- Following department safety procedures and work practices
- Working cooperatively with other crew members, supervisors, and department staff
- Performing additional maintenance duties as assigned
We're Looking for Someone Who:
- Is dependable, punctual, and willing to work
- Is comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Is capable of performing physical labor associated with utility maintenance
- Can follow instructions and established safety procedures
- Works well as part of a team
- Demonstrates professionalism when interacting with coworkers and the public
- Is willing to learn new skills and job responsibilities
- Can safely operate tools and equipment associated with the position
Previous experience in utility maintenance, equipment operation, or a related field is preferred but may not be required for the right candidate.
